Project description: Historically the site of several manufacturing operations, the property had since been divided into 163 units for residential apartments. The company was seeking funding for extensive renovations.
Summary of findings: The Phase I Environmental Site Assessment revealed several environmental conditions requiring notification to the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MADEP) pursuant to the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP): located and subsequently supervised removal of underground storage tank; identified elevator hydraulic fluid leakage; conducted subsequent assessment and remediation activities, including contaminated soil removal; identified sewer line fracture; supervised line repair and associated contaminated soil removal; ensured compliance with all MADEP and City of Worcester rules and regulations; completion of Immediate Response Actions (IRAs) resulted in a Class A Response Action Outcome (RAO) and regulatory closure with the MADEP.
